How to Create an iPhone Alarm That Will Vibrate Without Ringing

Want an alarm on your iPhone that vibrates without ringing? The iPhone doesn't have an automatic setting for that, but here's a workaround.
STEPS

1
GET A SILENT RINGTONE. You can record one yourself by downloading the free app Ringtone Recorder (or similar program) from the iTunes App Store.

2
FIND A QUIET LOCATION. Open the app, and select "record." Be as quiet as possible. After about 5 seconds, stop recording. Name the ringtone "Silent."

3
SYNC THE RINGTONE. The app will email you a file called Silent.m4a. Open the file with iTunes and add the ringtone to your phone. Be sure that "Sync Ringtones" is checked in the "Ringtones" menu for your iPhone in iTunes.

4
SET THE RINGTONE. Access "Settings,"

5
THEN THE "SOUNDS" MENU ON YOUR IPHONE.

6
SWITCH "VIBRATE ON RING" TO THE ON POSITION

7
SET AN ALARM. While editing the alarm, click "Sound" and select your new silent ringtone. When it goes off, your iPhone will silently vibrate.

TIPS
If you don't want to go through the hassle of recording a silent ringtone, you can search for "silent ringtones" in iTunes and download one. Then go on as above from Step 3.
Or make an alert or ringtone, set it as your alarm tone and then remove it from your library in iTunes. The phone can't locate it so plays nothing and just vibrates.
There is a vibrating alarm app. Check "Vibration Timer" in app store.
Or make a tone, set it as your slam and then remove the tone from your library.
If you record a silent ringtone, there might be a small blip of static sound at the beginning. However, it should be no louder than the vibration.
